How to replace your filter

1 Locate the filter cartridge holder in the back upper right hand corner of the refrigerator. To open the cartridge cover, where indicated, push in and the cover will drop down

2 Remove the old filter by slowly rotating it to the left. A small amount of water may drip down

3 Remove the red protective plug from the end of the new cartridg

4 Position the cartridge inside the cartridge holder. Slowly rotate the cartridge to the right until it stops. When the cartridge is properly installed, you will feel it “click” as it locks into place. The blade on the end of the cartridge should be positioned vertically. Do not overtighten

5 Close the cartridge cover.

6 Run water from the dispenser for 5 minutes (approximately 3 gallons) to clear the system and prevent air from entering the system

7 Locate the included Water Filter Replacement Calendar. Place the dark circle over the month that you installed your new filter. The light circle will indicate your tentative next replacement month. (This cycle can vary with water conditions and frequency of use).

I looked over a lot of the water filters that would go in my fridge and decided to stick with this one as it takes out so many more chemicals, minerals, etc. It is worth it good-tasting water!

    FAQ

How often should you replace your water filter?

    - On average, most filters last 6 months or 300 gallons depending on your water quality and usage.

How do I turn off my filter light to reset?

    - If the filter light will not reset after following specific instructions from your owner manual, contact your refrigerator manufacturer.

Do the gaskets (o-rings) on the filters need to be lubricated?

    - Most water filters come with pre-lubricated O-rings

    - If you are having trouble installing the filter, we have found that a small amount of vegetable oil applied to the O-ring will ease installation and removal of the filter.

I just installed my filter; do I need to run water through it before I drink the water? If so, how much?

    - You should run 3 gallons of water through your filter in order to flush it and make sure that it is thoroughly wet. Do not run the 3 gallons continuously, instead run the water for a few minutes and stop in between. Get a gallon water container, and pour and refill 3 times!
